Free Topic: Dungeons and Dragons

Hello reader, today I will talk about my favorite hobby, playing Dungeons and Dragons. Dungeons and Dragon or "DnD" is a very old role-playing game, the first edition was created in 1977, currently there is the fifth edition of the year 2014.  It is an RPG, where each player plays an adventurer. It is a board game at the same time, since the combats are with distances and miniatures that represent allies and enemies. It's a mix between leveling up your character, doing missions, playing your adventurer, and having strategy fights.  The game has three main pillars, explore, interpret and fight. there are two "positions" within the players. The first are called "Adventurers" they are the protagonists of the story and who face and resolve conflicts. and the second is called Dungeon Master. He is the one who tells the story, makes the story advance and controls the enemies in the fighting. the interactions between adventurers and the non-player character...

Do private schools offer higher quality education or are they just prestigious?

Imagen
Hello reader! and welcome back. In my opinion, this question is important, because it is something that has always affected our country. Chile, according to various studies, which include UNDP (United Nations Development Programme) studies, is considered one of the most unequal countries in all of Latin America and even the world, and this is largely due to the profound difference in quality that exists in national education.  In my opinion, there are certain elite schools that have world standards of education, schools that cost a lot of money and are only in the richest places in the country. These schools offer a comprehensive education that prepares you for the world of work and to face future problems. Although they are prestigious, the level of education they deliver is superior in comparison to municipal schools in poorer parts of our country. This creates a large cultural gap between those who studied in elite schools and those who studied in...

Religion

Imagen
Good morning reader. In this blog I will talk about religion, a subject that doesn't interest me much in truth. I was born into a Roman Catholic Apostolic family, the "official" religion of Chile. When I was a child, like the teacher, I went to a Catholic school called San Lazaro de Lasalle, a concretion of French priests. And being honest, the only thing I learned was to read very well, and not because of the religion, but because of the school itself. I have always doubted the existence of the Catholic God, it seemed so strange to me that we in America venerate a god who walked through the Middle East, until I began to learn history and religion interested me again. and this why?  Because history taught me that each culture had its own religion and that Catholicism and Abrahamic religions were taught all over the world, by the great migrations and later by the Roman Empire.  It was here that I realized that many religions had patterns in common, a god who...

What do you think of the health service in our country?

Imagen
What do you think of the health service in our country?  The health service in Chile, in my opinion, has multiple deficiencies.  These deficiencies are multiple and have been around for many years, but they have been exacerbated by the pandemic that we are currently experiencing as a society.  In my opinion, the greatest deficiency in the health service is the great difference in quality that the public health system has compared to the private system.  It is a national reality, that a public hospital is almost always full of people and with hardly any supplies to be able to supply all the demand it has for patients. in addition to this, there are multiple diseases that the public health service does not take into consideration, so these people have to pay for their own treatment. treatments that are often extremely expensive. While on the other hand, those who live in Chile and have money, can opt for better conditions when it comes to receiving care....

Is voting an important responsibility of a citizen?

Imagen
Is voting an important responsibility of a citizen? Good afternoon to everyone who reads this English Blog. In my opinion, the quality of citizen is quite important in today's society, since being a citizen of a country gives you different rights that the state has the obligation to fulfill. Such as the right to housing, to a quality education, to security and social well-being. Fundamental rights to develop fully.  But not only do citizens have rights, they also have duties. And one of them is Vote.  It is important since Chilean politics has changed a bit lately, but it is not the only way to do politics, it is only the official way. We can do politics day by day in our lives, each act can be political if a horizon of solidarity is sought for our society. And in Chile, it depends on each person if they vote or not, but I consider that it is important, but not the only way to demonstrate our citizens status.  Thank you very much for reading this...

A Subject You've Enjoyed this Semester

Medieval and Modern History The subject of medieval and modern history is carried out in the Faculty of Philosophy and Humanities of the University of Chile. It is a chair and class directed by Professor Italo Fuentes Bardelli, a doctor in history specialized in medieval history. The class is accompanied by necessary and complementary readings that guide the class and the debate that is generated in it. The class topics start with the early Middle Ages and how Christianity influenced the people and society of the time. Then it continues with the Middle Ages, centered on the monasteries and the different migrations that occurred at the time. And finally it ends with the High Middle Ages, where feudalism and the incipient passage to Renaissance are analyzed..I like this subject because I have always been interested in history and I have taken several courses in relation to it, in addition the medieval era is loaded with myths and legends that I like to investigate.
