Do private schools offer higher quality education or are they just prestigious?

 


Hello reader! and welcome back. In my opinion, this question is important, because it is something that has always affected our country. Chile, according to various studies, which include UNDP (United Nations Development Programme) studies, is considered one of the most unequal countries in all of Latin America and even the world, and this is largely due to the profound difference in quality that exists in national education. 

In my opinion, there are certain elite schools that have world standards of education, schools that cost a lot of money and are only in the richest places in the country. These schools offer a comprehensive education that prepares you for the world of work and to face future problems. Although they are prestigious, the level of education they deliver is superior in comparison to municipal schools in poorer parts of our country. This creates a large cultural gap between those who studied in elite schools and those who studied in municipal schools. 

In my opinion they are prestigious schools, but at the same time those schools must end since they generate a social inequality that marks the entire future of those who will later have to perform in life. Someone who comes from school Nido de Aguila is very different from someone who comes from school Z-99 of a small rural community.

Does education have to improve? Yes. but it has to be leveled up, to bet on improving the education of all the schools, not only the great and prestigious schools of wealthy generation, but also all the schools in the national territory. That's my humble opinion, thanks for reading.

I agree very much with what you wrote, I think that to ensure quality education, we must first generate an equity at the national level. Education is the fundamental pillar to confront the future with the right tools and in the right way.

    Hi Vicente, I also believe that it is urgently necessary to level the education provided in different establishments, especially taking into consideration the example you said about rural schools, which are often ignored.

    I want to tell you that I very much agree with your opinion. I believe that educational inequality is a major cause of the tremendous social inequality that surrounds our country, because since childhood it is constantly reproducing and creating an inequality of opportunities.

    Hi! I agree with your opinion, I believe that there should be no better or worse quality education, let alone having to pay for it. This means breaking with the mercantile logic of education.

 Is voting an important responsibility of a citizen? Good afternoon to everyone who reads this English Blog. In my opinion, the quality of citizen is quite important in today's society, since being a citizen of a country gives you different rights that the state has the obligation to fulfill. Such as the right to housing, to a quality education, to security and social well-being. Fundamental rights to develop fully.  But not only do citizens have rights, they also have duties. And one of them is Vote.  It is important since Chilean politics has changed a bit lately, but it is not the only way to do politics, it is only the official way. We can do politics day by day in our lives, each act can be political if a horizon of solidarity is sought for our society. And in Chile, it depends on each person if they vote or not, but I consider that it is important, but not the only way to demonstrate our citizens status.  Thank you very much for reading this...
